Fresh off the success of The New Edition Story, BET has announced yet another miniseries based on the life of one of the top five, dead or alive (OK, maybe top 10), rappers of all time. Of course, I’m talking about Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones.

According to Deadline, BET has ordered a pilot for Street Dreams, the story of Nas’ life in the Queensbridge projects in New York City, going from drug dealer to rapper. The series will be directed by Jonathan Levine, with Nas serving as executive producer.

In addition to the TV series, Nas is expected to drop a new album later this year—which would make a great accompaniment to the series.
