The Boston Herald is reporting that Tyra Banks will be one of the prestigious Harvard Business School's newest students. Apparently this explains why she's been spotted around Boston over the past few weeks with boyfriend John Utendahl (described on Wikipedia as the most successful black investment banker on Wall Street — maybe he inspired her to further her business education?), and why she recently tweeted a picture of herself in a Harvard hoodie.
Just to be clear, this isn't a strenuous, full-time MBA program we're talking about. Banks is enrolling in a single course for entrepreneurs through the school's executive education program, which, according to the website, has no formal requirements for admission.
However, she still deserves congratulations for getting in. Harvard also says about the program, "Admission is a selective process based on professional achievement and organizational responsibility. We look for professionals who have demonstrated business talent and leadership potential." Even though we've never associated Tyra with academia, we have to agree that she fits the bill.
