Hey, y’all. It’s me, Monique Judge, reporting to you live as The Root’s Cardi B bureau chief. By now you know that if my queen even breathes a little heavily, I will be right here on The Grapevine to tell y’all all about it, so here we go, babies.
A little more than a week after she deleted her account following a back-and-forth with the queen of “WON’T Y’ALL PLEASE LOOK AT ME, PLEASE,” Azealia Banks, Cardi B returned to the social media site on Sunday—just in time to let us know she’d be dropping the video for “Be Careful,” the latest single off her hit album, Invasion of Privacy.
There was no fanfare. No big “I’m back” announcement. Just a post with a clip from her new video and a caption that read, “‘Be Careful’ video coming tomorrow on my youtube page. Love ya.”
This was followed a few hours later by a post enumerating her various platinum and gold hits with the caption, “CAUSE I EARNED IT !!!”
After that, she treated fans to two videos of herself. In one, she dances to her own record with her cute, pregnant self; and in the other, she discusses the making of the “Be Careful” video out in the California desert.
On Monday afternoon, after her video dropped, she treated us to a throwback picture of her and her sister, Hennessy Carolina, as little ones, and it is the cutest thing you have ever seen. Cardi looks the same. I stan.
As for “Be Careful,” the video is giving me strong Kill Bill vibes, and it was obviously an inspiration.
Cardi looks beautiful with blond hair. She is glowing in her pregnancy, and I just love her more and more.
Offset better watch out. If he keeps messing up, Cardi gonna kill him. At least that seems to be the message here.
