World-famous pop star Bad Bunny has gone political and has publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 Presidential Election, joining a growing list of Puerto Rican A-list celebrities to speak out following a “joke” at the country’s expense from a Trump rally.

Comedian and podcast host Tony Hinchcliffe discussed accepting Latinos into America with “open arms,” while also making a shooing motion, and he also stated, “There’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”

On his Instagram story, Bunny shared a video of Harris discussing Trump’s lack of action in 2017 as Hurricanes Irma and Maria were affecting Puerto Rico and many other countries in the Caribbean. Harris also states in the video, “There is so much at stake in this election for Puerto Rican voters and for Puerto Rico.”

She also states, “I will never forget what Donald Trump did and what he did not do when Puerto Rico needed a caring and a competent leader. He abandoned the island, tried to block aid after back-to-back devastating hurricanes, and offered more than paper towels and insults.

But the “MONACO” artist isn’t the only Puerto Rican celebrity to show support for Harris. On their respective Instagram stories, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin shared a post from Harris on what she would do to economically protect and grow Puerto Rico if elected.

As Hinchliffe was making these Jokes, Harris was in Philadelphia, making it a point to spend time with the city’s Puerto Rican residents and discuss bringing more economic opportunities to the country.
