In 2015, rapper Azealia Banks was accused of biting a female bouncer outside New York City’s Up & Down nightclub. Banks was denied entrance into a private party and began yelling at the bouncers. Even after being allowed into the club, she continued her tirade. She was then removed by bouncer Christine Soares, who was the recipient of Banks’ breast bite. Banks was arrested and charged with third-degree assault.
On Wednesday, Banks appeared in court and pleaded guilty. She got off lucky and did not receive a jail sentence. Instead she was ordered to attend anger management and placed on probation.
Once her requirements are completed, without other incidents, Banks’ charges could be reduced to disorderly conduct. But, on the other hand, if she does get into more trouble, Banks could end up serving one year in jail.
The “212” rapper was also accused of attacking a bouncer at a Los Angeles nightspot in Oct. 2015, according to New York County Assistant District Attorney Shea Donato, but those charges were dropped. Prosecutors also stated that in 2009, Banks slashed her sister with a box cutter.
Hopefully Banks will keep her nose clean and get her life back on track.
