Many years ago, before I was married, I was also celibate by choice for religious reasons. And a lot of people were really shitty about it. I found that there were usually 2 types of people who judged my decision:

this was a good check on myself and attitudes. it’s important to not let your anti-religious-nonsense stance interfere with a woman’s autonomy. mind your business, indeed.

The same religious people who made up the rules saying not to have sex until marriage were also marrying their girls off at 13, so it’s not like they were really ‘saving’ themselves. 33 is kind of a whole different thing. Still her choice of course...just odd.

I was listening to a podcast where Yvonne talked briefly about this. And I was like, “cool” and then kept it moving. I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but, of course, twitter was going wild with this. Why? I don’t know.

I really appreciate this especially from a black woman, like yourself. The way a lot of people dragged her in the beginning and continued to dragg her was weird and off putting. Mind your own damn business.  

This will help the students. It would be nice if they would be as generous with the teaching staff. Maybe free lunch for campus staff. Most bring their lunches but easing the load will go a long way. Remember, many of the employees were also affected. Teachers are suffering right along with the students.
