Yes. And even with the comedies it tends to be the same type of comedy. Part of why I loved, The Mis Adventures of Awkward Black Girl was because, the work scenes were reminiscent of The Office and Parks and Rec, but it was black people and people of color.

ETA: It’s not a shock that Selma, which portrayed LBJ in a negative light, got the other half of it’s financing (Oprah and Brad Pitt gave Ava half) from companies in the UK.

The problem is at the end of the day financing is in white hands. You have to convince a panel of white men, on why they should give you their money.
