Totally agree....I guess it’s at least enabled me to buy a print or two.

Mrs. Obama is the classiest woman with a kind spirit. Thank you for sharing your wisdom that the young and older generations can benifit from. Caring is sharing.

I remember buying this when it came out in 1993 as I was by myself in a strange town and needed something to chase away loneliness. Absolutely amazing work of dystopian fiction that I try to revisit every couple of years (and, frankly, it scares the hell out of me that more and more of Ms. Butler’s world-building

I absolutely loved the one with Conan.

He is under the “spell” of the trauma of white supremacy. As are we all. Lovecraft Country is a meditation on Black trauma due to white supremacy. It fits right in with the themes of the series.

Everyone deserves sympathy, literally everyone on the face of the planet deserves sympathy because we are all in this together. The human condition is a hard one and everyone suffers because of it every single day.  We can recognize that Trump is a gigantic asshole while also having sympathy for his horrible

Trump was abused by his father. Some folks, abused or not, don’t deserve/receive sympathy. Hella abused folks out here being absolute trash people. As a society, we are quite deliberate about who we choose to have sympathy and grace for.

His book gave away the game! Wasn’t he reading Journey to the Center of the Earth?

Another example of inspirational leadership of a black woman yet again standing against the tsunami against her (I wonder what proportion of these pro Wall Street democrats are men).

I’m a geek so I must reference geek things to communicate how I feel:

Thank you for acknowledging the work Black women do to care for and elevate our families and this nation.

Black girl, Jamaican, Barbados, Indian American magic for real! Say it loud, we’re black and we’re proud!

Frightening doesn’t even begin to describe what I felt reading The Parable of the Sower.  I was convinced that she had seen directly into America’s future and had to warn us.

I had the honour and privilege of seeing her being interviewed live at the University of Toronto, weeks before her untimely death. I got to talk to her briefly and she signed my copy of Kindred.  The Parable of the Sower was beyond prescient.  It gave me chills and still does.

God bless her. Truly, God bless her. I just wish she could have seen this herself.

I have loved this writer for decades and have read everything that she wrote. I was so sad when she died. So sad. But I am glad that her work is of interest to new generations. Most excellent!

Ms. Butler is one of my all time favorite authors. I saw her once in the 90's at an author’s workshop. Her speaking voice was rich and mesmerizing. She had such presence. I was in awe the entire time. I’m thankful for her unique talent and legacy.

Her Lilith’s Brood trilogy, (Dawn, Imago and Adulthood Rites, aka Exogenesis) is right up there in great sci-fi.
