Great post. It’s a reminder both of how far things have come as well as how much they’ve stagnated over the last 50 years

That was beautiful.

Much love Kirsten for this article, I’ll admit, I have no idea who Larry Payne was. This was very eye-opening and harrowing at the same exact time. It sums up why I refuse to listen to people who support Americas Police Force, all these shootings of black folk ain’t an anomaly. It’s part of this damn sick country

Thank you for your diligence and vigilance.

I’ve heard it say that it’s dangerous to be fishing around in the glovebox/pockets/etc as they approach the car. They can just as easily believe you’re going for a weapon or hiding something.

No no no no no. Do NOT keep your ID in your pocket when the cops roll up. Even if they ask you to get your ID, they will shoot you for reaching in your pocket even though they told you to do it.

Thank you for this heartfelt commentary. It is informative, provocative, sobering, and all too true.

Great piece, Kirsten. Thank you. Keep writing them. Maybe some day they will be heard....

Thank you! Next time I’ll be more patient when I see “developing story.”
