I’m not being facetious here. The idea that women of color are writing article after article about this one topic and not using their platforms for other topics that amplify marginalized communities is not based in fact.

One, I don’t need to fit in. Two, if that’s what you call a clap back, you don’t know what a clap back is.

There were many conversations around it during the organization of the march. That’s what prompted the name change.

I definitely more align with Malcolm. I wrote about my evolution on Dr. King previously.

That’s a misperception about Malcolm that doesn’t seem to die. He never believed in violence; he believed in self-defense. He believed that it wasn’t violent to defend yourself from violence, it was common sense.

How so? Malcolm talked about the American nightmare and being victims of America prior to King’s realization. Before they were both assassinated, they were closer in ideology than some people realize.

Too many people—from MLK to Malcolm to Assata to Du Bois to James Baldwin—have taught us about the dangers of the lukewarm liberal. There is nothing cute about them, nor how dangerous they can be.
