So, you can now add Had a Moment of True Sisterhood with Jada Pinkett-Smith to your resumé. Well done you! This is one beautifully written piece. Congratulations, Ms. León.

This is beautifully written. I had no idea the show went that deeply, shedding light on topics too long buried in all our families. Thank you
Felice,
My excuse is that she’s down at sea level, and I’m high in the mountains. Yeh, that’s it. It’s, uhh, about the oxygen in the air and chemistry. See, it’s science.
Well? How do you care for your hair? I wear wigs, but I want to wear my hair out from time to time especially during the warm months. YouTube isn’t helpful ... or maybe I’m not looking in the right places?
Felice that absolute best of luck to you. I’m training for the LA marathon in March. Stay strong, you’ve got this!
8 miles at a 9 min pace? I've been running for 10 years and still have yet to reach that pace in that distance. I'm impressed!
Girl, I’m with you in spirit...from my perch on the couch eating smoked salmon spread on Ritz between sips of Liebfraumilch!
What do you see when you look at black boys?
Martin Luther King Jr. is perhaps one of the most famous civil rights leaders in the United States. His name is…
I often see white parents with obviously adopted black children, I’d call the police but they’d probably arrest the kids.
Trying to figure out this outfit.
I went to one yoga class because my friend was teaching it at a new place for the first time and she wanted a couple of us to come to fill out the class just in case no one showed up. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.
Great stuff. Learning about the discrimination in yoga is eye opening. I didn’t even know that was an issue.
I was fortunate to discover her a while back. I just love her. Without this article, I would not have known about her book. It’s supposed to arrive Friday. Thank you!
Same. She’s fantastic, and she makes me want to try again after all these years. I used to like it a lot, while I was doing it on my own. Then I started going to class...
Holy shit. She is fantastically inspiring, thank you for highlighting her here!
As an Indian, it truly pisses me off how yoga has been whitewashed and stripped of its origins. It annoys me to no ends how people perceive yogis as skinny white girls and how yoga is seen as a “white thing.” I’m glad to see black women like her doing yoga and spreading yoga to more poc.
I want to give her a high five through my computer screen. :D
An inspiration. Makes me wanna give yoga a second try! ;)
