I went to one yoga class because my friend was teaching it at a new place for the first time and she wanted a couple of us to come to fill out the class just in case no one showed up. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.

Great stuff. Learning about the discrimination in yoga is eye opening. I didn’t even know that was an issue.

As an Indian, it truly pisses me off how yoga has been whitewashed and stripped of its origins. It annoys me to no ends how people perceive yogis as skinny white girls and how yoga is seen as a “white thing.” I’m glad to see black women like her doing yoga and spreading yoga to more poc.

I want to give her a high five through my computer screen. :D
