Good stories are my jam. Professionally, I help major brands tell their stories. Personally, I write (true) stories on uncomfortable topics: faith, politics, race, relationships, and current events.

My alopecia story is a bit different but in many ways similar.

Maybe, just maybe, Rapitalism isn't the vehicle for black liberation.

I read that yesterday and the professor needs to acknowledge that his wife is the reason he isn’t homeless and broke. And if he hasn’t done so already he needs to beg and plead for her forgiveness.

This is a great post. I think you’ve provided some nuance here that most can’t see from Ayesha. To be fair, that tweet (which made my butt itch), really should have gone unsent. But I get her sentiment...though I’m not a mother, I can understand the desire to have the attention that you may not have wanted earlier.

Wait, I don’t understand. Ayesha Curry is married, so why would she even want the attention of anyone but her husband? I mean, sexuality is nothing more than a commitment one has made to another human being, right? Certainly, no one’s ever heard of a married man talking to, flirting with, or—God-forbid—fantasizing

OK, so you haven’t had a baby and haven’t personally experienced what that does to your body, glad we’re clear on that. In case you’re wondering about biology, actual stats and actual expert information regarding post-partum weight loss, here’s what docs advise. And it varies from woman to woman, because, you know,

talk about invisibility - just wait until you are a middle aged woman like me!   i also struggle with the hatred of cat calls yet the sorrow of not getting them anymore. Pregnant women and middle aged women seem to have a lot in common.

That is highly dependent on a lot of factors: do you have the time/funds to work out now that you’re taking care of a baby? What age were you when you had the baby? I have an idea: how about we stop dictating to women how and when they are supposed to “bounce back” from monumental changes to their bodies?

Lord have mercy. Apparently critical thinking is hard.

I’m not here for her humanity, continue to be the stepford wife you were all too happy to let us know you were sis.

Except that is NOT what she said. :eyeroll: She said looking back over the past 10 years not that she’s been feeling that way for 10 years.

It's important to have limits on your empathy.  You wouldn't want to be too forgiving of someone accidentally.

I feel like "sis" should be reserved for people whose humanity you acknowledge.

“In a world that sees nuance as nuisance, women are not allowed to both despise the man on the street that compliments your ass AND also feel invisible in the shadow of a man who is showered with adoration, praise and the attention of countless women.”

Honestly I just shake my head at everyone I’ve seen that have critiqued and somehow justify their reasoning or “shame” for listening to this album.

Tell that to all the depressed people who have killed themselves. Or to their families. They can both be terrible things to have, it’s not a competition.

Fuck that, MS is degrees more fucked up than depression. Depression is a symptom/complication of MS. You’d wish you only had depression if you had MS. Imagine you’re depressed at the same time your body betrays you and physically eats away at your nervous system. Imagine you’re Richard Pryor and you survived

Saying that you’re going to send your enemy’s daughter to a serial pedophile - who is STILL raping Black girls, mind you and has the influence and celebrity to continue to get away with it- and also rape her yourself like Cam did is gross and out of pocket. If other people wanna tolerate that shyt, that’s on them. I’m

There’s plenty off-limits. Like when Cam said he’d get R Kelly to molest Nas’ daughter and implied that he’d rape her also.

- Sexual assault.
