Senior Editor @ The Root, boxes outside my weight class, when they go low, you go lower.

I’m not sure if you had the opportunity to read the entire story, but the rehashing of said $2,000 vs $1,400 was a small part in a larger piece. After meeting with Republicans, Biden is now considering narrowing the scope of the payments to focus on those in need. I don’t think this was ever mentioned during Biden’s

I want to apologize for upsetting you in this fashion as I’m not writing for personal need, I’m writing for those who don’t have the platform that I do. Also, and this is important, I don’t see politicians as my friends. I see them as elected officials who were put in office to do the work of the people. I think you

huh? I’m still waiting for any of you all that find my argument to ridiculous to show me any kind of documentation in which Biden said that his stimulus package was going to be a carry over of the one before it.

Y’all done got me all in the comments (Suge Knight voice.) I just want to say that I really love, y’all. Seriously. I never comment on pieces that I’ve written and yes, I see all your mean comments, but I know they are sent with love or whatever. But I’m truly glad that we have this space to collectively bash each

No, The Squad proposed this idea when Trump told folks to go back to the table. This had nothing to do with Biden yelling in the way that Biden tends to do: “$2,000 checks are on the way!” which doesn’t sound anything like, “$1,400 checks are on the way because Congress gave you $600 weeks ago and when you math all

Huh? Those aren’t made up numbers those are stimulus amounts handed out since the pandemic hit. $1200 was the first and $600 was the second.

No, the dance I’ve asked him not to do was implying that AOC’s tweet regarding $2,000 was a bait and switch when she was speaking about two different issues.

LOL. While this is a good negotiating tactic when handing out birthday money, I don’t suggest you use this tactic when negotiating salary or stimulus packages.

We are talking about past stimulus packages, which Biden didn’t bring up until after he created his proposal and after America voted. If past stimulus packages are on the table as a continuation of a $2,000 promise, then why aren’t all of them available for discussion?

Please don’t do this dance. That AOC tweet was when Trump pushed back on the stimulus bill saying that $600 wasn’t enough for the people. That’s why AOC noted that she had the legislation already drawn up and ready to go. She was trying to get the people $2,000 then. Biden didn’t say that he was extending this talk.

Using your example, lets keep going: So if you owed someone $2000 and you gave them $1200 and then $600 wouldn’t you only owe them $200? See how the math don’t math?

Funny you ask. He was placed in one cop’s car who asked him why he got so mad over cake and they started talking and it turned out the cop used to go the Caribbean spot all the time, Derrick said he worked there and the cop pulled over and let him go. He told him he was lucky and we assumed that meant he was either

Sounds like you’re still watching. There are programs to help you with this addiction. Also your position is all over the place. Kaepernick was protesting injustice in the black community. The NFL said you can’t do that here and it would’ve been nice for black folks to stand in solidarity with the man that risked his

I’m coming down on NFL fans because it’s happening now. I was 13 when Craig Hodges incident went down but I damn sure referenced in a piece I wrote which was originally titled “Fuck Michael Jordan.” I’m not holding the NFL’s feet to the flame for what they did to George Taliaferro, I’m holding them accountable for

Yes. I do hold black sports fan accountable but the difference with the NBA and the WNBA, as those women are actually leading the charge in protest, is that the stars of both leagues have made it impossible for the owners to come down on the players. You think anyone is telling LeBron he can’t wear a Tamir Rice
