When I was in my spring semester my second year at Temple I took a black history class from Reconstruction. Hurricane Katrina had been that fall and Temple did a program where kids from NOLA schools could come to Temple and take classes. One of the women in my class said she wanted to meet Bill Cosby. Exactly. We’re talking about folks who don’t have to try to sang, but people who come in the room and just sang. You know, because they can. We’re not going to have to sit and nervously wait for a few seconds for some “singer” to find a tune.

“like I couldn’t do it for you, like that desperate, mediocre, white bitch could.”

I’m certain that “Becky” is actually a representation of many mistresses. There’s no way that Jay cheated with just one woman.

Back when I used to work there, the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco had a white President of the Board of Directors, a white Director of Exhibitions, a white Programs Director, and so on. Every position that had anything to do with making decisions about that place was held by white people. We couldn’t

According to an earlier WNYC report, “the majority of the inmates at the Bergen County Jail are now immigrants arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New York and held as part of a contract that brings the county about $1.4 million a month.

I have this key/lock, and here’s what I can tell you:

Aboriginals weren’t only not considered citizens until 1967, THEY WEREN’T EVEN LEGALLY CLASSIFIED AS HUMAN! They were legally considered part of Australia’s flora and fauna, and were thus regulated under the government’s Flora and Fauna Law.

You make some arguments and conclusions, but I attended Maryland when UMD was still part of the ACC and often had to watch Shane Battier’s pineapple head play basketball. He had some bops, but he was more annoying than anything.

Don’t disrespect the champ Battier like that. Battier is a winner who was lauded for his professionalism and intelligence. Jah just had a couple of okay years in the early 2000s

I would do it but I love me too much

I vehemently disagree. Basketball fans appreciate would Shane Battier bought to the game and he has the respect of all his teammates. Furthermore, Shane was never delusional enough to think he was on Lebron’s level.

Ja-Rule is barely the Ja-Rule of rap.

For me, the thin edge of the wedge was when BOTH Dr. King Jr. AND Coretta Scott King, were given to Brits when the last biopic on his life was made a couple of years back. Then there was the movie about the Lovings. Where both parts were played by a Brit (the wife) and an Aussie (the husband).

My favorite Harriet Tubman was portrayed by Aisha Hinds in “Underground”. She gets her own monologue/one-woman-show episode, and it’s excellent.

Before we pass judgement, do we know his anxiety levels about the economy?  I don’t want to accidentally assume that this is a racist piece of shit who was threatening a group of black people with a gun just so he didn’t have to share an elevator with them.
