I’m 59. I started acting recently on a whim after a family friend recruited me for a play. Two community theatre roles later I was asked if I would be willing to audition for a professional theatre company. I only said “yes” because there was no way I would actually get the part.

It is never too late to take up art. Shit, Paul Gaugin was a middle-aged insurance salesman in Paris when he finally said, ‘screw this, I’m moving to Fiji to paint.’

She is (was?) a wonderful historian and I am so glad to see that she has gone on to do something that fills her with passion. I remember when I heard she was retiring. I was surprised given how “young” she was. Now I see she wasn’t so much as retiring as carving out a new and exciting direction for her life. A true

Definite yikes on colored women, but the sentiment still comes through. I’m always here for boosting WOC.

Big heart, gutsy, good dad—sounds like a great guy to know. Way to go, Antoine! Love and admiration to you from Southern California.

Antoine seems like he has a very big heart. Much love to him.

Here’s some follow-up - he’s been charged with civil rights violations and BPD is investigating as a potential hate crime.

Something that ought to be noted and discussed, since the media did not bother to cover it. Spike Lee is the first African American Director to win the Grand Prix at Cannes for this film. Thats a pretty big deal...yet no news play of any kind, including the black press. When Kristen Stewart won Best Actress at Cannes,

If he’s worried about looking cartoonish, I’m more than happy to push DD over a cliff with an anvil in his hands.

Big “if.” Since the misdemeanor charges are violation of national park regulations or public use limit; trespassing; disorderly conduct, and interfering with government functions, it seems no damage was done.

On the other hand, it would be a really great opportunity to have some “track work” occurring when all of them are loaded on one train, preferably in between stations, and preferably with an AC outage.

I am not actually a goat, but goats are fantastic.

I thought Trump had ruined everything already until, of course, he had to go and diss LeBron. My hate for LeBron (as a player, not a person) has been tarnished. I like to go on Deadspin and comment how much better MJ was (who I hated as a player AND a person), but now, I will just look like a Trump supporter if I do.

Oddly, when I think of Frida Kahlo, I’m more inclined to think unibrow than bold brow, but I think the bigger point is who owns a brow shape?

I’m not saying it was the intent, but it was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the spread (and before I knew there was a Japanese floral designer involved), but that just goes to show that cultural influences are aren’t always unilateral.

I think Chávez’s opinion might also have been affected by the Oaxacan style flower crown she’s wearing on the cover.

A friend sent me this blog post from a few years ago. It’s from a woman that worked with her on her show. Roseanne needs some serious therapy/meds. And after reading it, I’m disappointed in John Goodman as well.

In the words of the great civil rights leader and social justice warrior Rosa Parks - NAH.

Out of all the names that could have been used, they’re using “Sade’”
