That a college student anxious to get home for an early class would then go outside and break into cars, and then escalate a situation with a security guard, is a *lot* to ask someone to believe. In fact, what would cause *anyone* to get inside an armed guard’s car to try to fight them?

Right, or as I like to call them, “singers who can sing.”

The man doesn’t know his angles or his wrangles.

Not Farrah’s luggage though!

I get it. And to be clear, I’m not expecting anyone to feel hopeful or trust a system that has so frequently failed before, and is failing in so many respects in this case as well.

It’s also relevant that this is the District Attorney asking for this report. This will also be about poking holes in Guyger’s story, and the locks *could* play a huge part in verifying or contradicting her version of events (and her reliability, period) in a courtroom.

I suspect there’s a good bit of that happening here as well. Which isn’t to dismiss the validity of this debate—which has been going on for a minute now. That’s more to do with housing, I think. And you can’t be within a certain distance to places like schools, playgrounds and the like, though those can be hard to enforce.

This is still the record among The Root staff, I think.

Okay after looking at these pics of Aunt Helen I just want to say Kinja commenters y’all better behave yourselves 👀

You’d need a bunch of descriptors there because you’re not comparing black veterans to the general population in this data set. You’re comparing black veterans taking prescription opioids with other veterans taking prescription opioids, which makes for a clunky headline.

Bless your heart but you could very well Google these things before you post. Previously, overstaying a visa (which is the case for a lot of undocumented immigrants) wasn’t considered a “crime” but a civil violation (for perspective, here’s another example of a civil violation: a parking ticket).
