A Phoenix TV reporter is in a whole heap of trouble after being caught defecating on a front lawn near the home of his story's subject, the New York Daily News reports

Jonathan Lowe, a reporter for KPHO, was arrested earlier this week after he was seen by a neighbor who was picking up papers from the street, the site reports.

The 33-year-old reportedly admitted to his impromptu bathroom break, explaining that he was not feeling well at the time.

“I know what you want to talk to me about. I’ve been feeling very sick and I’ve been stuck in this van all day,” he said, according to the police report. “Those people who called on me just wanted to start problems.”

However, the woman who made the report about Lowe said that he could have used her bathroom if only he had knocked on her door and asked.

Lowe faces a fine of $2,500 or six months in jail for the misdemeanor crime of public defecation, the site notes. According to the Daily News, the Phoenix New Times reported that Executive News Director Dan Wilson said Lowe was still employed at the news station, although the channel’s Thursday write-up of Lowe’s troubles referred to him as a “former KPHO/KTVK reporter.”
