On the heels of R&B singer Teena Marie's sudden death, reports began circulating online Monday that Franklin had passed away. According to a source close to the singer, Franklin is alive and still recuperating from surgery. This celebrity-death-hoax phenomenon is out of control, and something should be done about it. There is freedom of speech and press, but this is ridiculous.
