As the holiday season commences, rapper Ludacris is celebrating by not only blessing us with a fun new holiday movie, Dashing Through the Snow, but he’s also teasing one more thing that his fans may have been putting on their Christmas list: new music.

He said as much during an interview with BET, where he revealed that a few new projects would be coming out though he’s still a bit unsure of what shape it would take.

“Yeah, some music projects will be coming out next year. I don’t wanna fake, I don’t wanna stutter-step,” the Word of Mouf rapper said. “I don’t wanna be like [André] 3000 and say, ‘I got an album coming out.’ I don’t know. It’s definitely some music coming next year, but I don’t know if it’s like an EP or an LP. We’re going to figure it out.”

Explaining why he’s now returning to the music after an eight-year hiatus, the Incognegro rapper explained that his creative interests were more in the TV and film space at the time, specifically referencing the popular Fast & Furious franchise and his hit kid’s Netflix show, Karma’s World. He also said that he needed some time to “get hungry again” and live life in order to have the right material to share with his fans.

“When you put out music, in order for it to be organic and real, you gotta talk about what goes on in your life,” he explained. “So if I had like nine consistent albums, sometimes you gotta take a step back and live some life so that you have a lot more to talk about and that’s what I was doing.”

Well, you heard that fans! Merry Luda-mis! Or is it Merry Ludacris-mas? Either way, it looks like you’ve got one more thing to be thankful for this holiday.
