On it’s way out the door, 2023 has claimed yet another celebrity uncoupling: Cardi B. and Offset.

In a clip of an Instagram Live session from the weekend, Cardi seemingly confirmed her split from the “Ric Flair Drip” rapper.

“I don’t know if y’all been getting clues from me from my live or from my stories, when I put certain music or if I’m unfollowing—when it comes to today’s events, I don’t know if it’s true. I don’t think it’s true,” she said Sunday night, likely referencing the online rumors that the Migos rapper had stepped out on their marriage that began rumbling a week prior to this announcement.

“I don’t care to find out because I been single for a minute now. But I have been afraid to, like — not afraid — I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign.”

She later added that she wanted to start 2024 “fresh” and “open” and that she was curious for a “new life” and a “new beginning.”

As previously reported by The Root, talks that there may have been trouble in paradise between Cardi and Offset started making the rounds on the internet after keen-eyed fans noticed the two of them had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Cardi also posted somewhat cryptic comments in since-expired posts to her Instagram story.

“You know when you just outgrow relationships,” she wrote in one post captured by TMZ. “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings...I gotta put myself first.”

Offset has yet to officially confirm their split or make any public statements about their separation.
