Who’s Surprised? April Ryan Not Invited to White House Holiday Party for 1st Time in 20 Years

April Ryan, the black woman the White House loves to hate on, will not be going to the scary White House white-walking winter wonder-klan for its annual Christmas party—for the first time in 20 years.

The NAACP tweeted the news Wednesday morning, saying that Ryan was not invited.

The veteran White House correspondent, who recently went on record saying that reporters of color are treated like “the opposition” in Donald Trump’s press room, has had her share of messy public dustups with the Trump White House.

The most recent tiff was with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in a little situation called #PieGate.

Huckabee Sanders said that she made a chocolate pecan pie for Thanksgiving, and Ryan asked for receipts—that is, let’s see it on a table, ma’am. Given the lies that this administration peddles on a daily, I mean, why wouldn’t she lie about making a pie? Suffice it to say there was never a photo of the pie on a table.

Ryan isn’t the only one who isn’t going to the yearly White House shindig. As reported earlier today by The Root, CNN, for whom Ryan is a special correspondent, has chosen not to attend the party, which is supposed to be bipartisan and in celebration of the Yuletide season.

But CNN chose not to attend. Ryan—whose primary gig is with Urban Radio Networks—was not invited. A distinction, but a significant one for a White House that loves to attack and belittle black women (who voted for Hillary Clinton at rates higher than any other group).

These are the pettiest people I know. Petty is not pretty in a president. Or his stupid minions.
