A 15-year-old girl, suspected in the savage beating of another teen girl that was captured on video at a McDonald’s in the Brooklyn borough of New York City, was picked up by authorities at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, reports the New York Daily News.
According to the report, police say she was pulled off a flight “just moments away” from fleeing the country and heading to Jamaica.
In all, three suspects were arrested Friday; authorities continue to search for two others.
The arrests come a day after New York City police apprehended a 16-year-old girl, alleged to be the ringleader of the assault, who’s been arrested five previous times, including incidents in which she is suspected of stabbing her brother and punching her grandmother.
The alleged victim, who was seen being repeatedly punched, kicked and dragged across the floor while a crowd of onlookers cheered, went on Facebook and posted “I’m Famous Now,” but so far she hasn’t cooperated with police.
Police told the Daily News that because of Facebook, they were able to develop leads on all the suspects involved in the fight. "Most of these kids identify themselves," a source said. "They either post the video, tag themselves in pictures or boast about being there."
