Updated: Tuesday, July 1o, 2018, 4:14 p.m. EDT: We spoke too soon! In a dynamic quick change, the Duchess of Sussex, who appeared at Tuesday morning’s Royal Air Force centennial celebration wearing a custom-made dress by Dior, came through with a very “Emerald Isle”-appropriate burst of color in the afternoon, donning a sleek, forest-green skirt set by royal wedding dress designer Givenchy to visit Ireland with her husband, Prince Harry.
The fitted, monochromatic ensemble paired an elbow-length, sleeved top with a cargo-pocketed pencil skirt. Custom-made, nude-suede heels by Givenchy and a tan, leather tote by luxury handbag designer Strathberry completed the look.

It seems just yesterday that we were discussing Meghan Markle’s latest major wardrobe change (oh wait, we were). But here we are again ... so we’ll make this quick.
Just a day after the christening of nephew-in-law Prince Louis, the newly christened Duchess of Sussex joined the British royal family at the centennial of the Royal Air Force at Westminster Abbey, this time choosing to wear a custom dress by Dior.
Cut in a simple silhouette strikingly similar to her wedding gown, the day dress, in a navy hue so inky it read as black in many photos, featured Markle’s now go-to bateau (also known as boatneck) neckline, 3/4 sleeve, skinny belt (also a Markle standby) and flared skirt. The duchess once again paired her look with a matching fascinator-style hat by royal favorite, milliner Stephen Jones, OBE.
In short, no major surprises here, as the outfit was well in keeping with the duchess’s newly conservative style. Perhaps the one eye-catching detail was Markle’s choice to break up the darkness by wearing an ivory pump. Admitedlly, optically it came across as a bit of an anomaly, but is a look in keeping with other women of the royal family (specifically, Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker-Bowles), who opted to wear nude for the occasion.
As much as we’d love to see a little more personality peeking through, Markle seems to be fitting right in with her new family—likely because she seems to determined not to upstage anyone; a choice which is not only wise, but no small feat for a former actress.
