The current legal war between Jay-Z and attorney Tony Buzbee does not mean Sean “Diddy” Combs is catching a break. In tackling more than 100 plaintiffs accusing the rapper of sexual assault, Buzbee just filed another suit stemming from a John Doe’s horrifying account.
The John Doe, an aspiring music artist, alleges they ran into Combs for the first time in 2015. The lawsuit claims the then 23-year-old was scheduled to be the opening act for another big-name artist at multiple venues across Los Angeles. Just ahead of his show at QC’s 20/20, the suit says someone told him Combs would be in the crowd, getting him hype on the chance to sign to Bad Boy Records.
However, the suit says during an after party, where drugs were present, Doe was handed a drink by someone who claimed it was a gesture from Combs. The plaintiff said he realized the drink was drugged and began losing consciousness. The suit then alleges Doe witnessed Combs and his associates engage in group sex. During said activity is when the plaintiff claims he woke up to Combs groping him and alleged the rapper may have performed oral sex on him.
When Doe tried to resist Combs, the suit says he was told his chances of being a successful music artist would be ruined. Combs was then alleged to try and force Doe into having sex with a woman. However, Doe managed to get away after dipping off to the bathroom.
These allegations are the most recent to come against the rapper, though, even more are expected to come in. Tony Buzbee said in an October press conference that he’s representing 120 individuals — men and women — who claimed to have been drugged, sexually assaulted, raped or threatened by Combs. Some alleged victims claimed to be minors at the time of the incidents.
Out of the pool, over a dozen anonymous plaintiffs have filed their lawsuits, per court records. Of the unnamed celebrities implicated in some of the suits, rapper Jay-Z was the only one so far to be named as Combs’ accomplice in a sexual assault.
Many of the suits, filed since 2023, have been civil. However, Combs faces criminal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and engaging in interstate transportation for prostitution in federal court. He has pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.
