Amber Rose is on a crusade of sorts, encouraging people to think long and hard about sexism, sexuality and the double standards at play between men and women. And even the double standards at play between different kinds of women.
She made it plain and clear to Rev. Run and Tyrese that when a woman says no to sex, she means exactly that, regardless of what she has on or what the circumstance is. During a recent interview with the Daily Beast, she spoke about the double standard between women who are trashed for being sexy and dressing scantily clad, and women who aren’t. She used Beyoncé as an example, and that sent the Beyhive into a frenzy.
“They come at me and Kim [Kardashian] so hard because I was a stripper and she had a sex tape,” Rose said.
She argued that people seem to turn a blind eye to Beyoncé’s half-nakedness because the singer has an obvious talent that people can latch on to immediately and appreciate—whereas Rose and Kardashian seem to just be selling sex, and that may be turning people off.
“So if we could sing, it would be OK if we were onstage half-naked?” she asked. “We all love Beyoncé, but she’s on stage half-naked and twerking all the time, yet people say, ‘Oh, she has talent, so she’s able to do that.’”
Rose is not buying that excuse and argues that no woman should be subjected to slut-shaming.
“We don’t have the talent that Beyoncé has, so we get criticized as former sex workers, but at the end of the day we’re just women—we’re all women—and we should all embrace each other. No one is greater,” Rose said.
The Beyhive hopped onto Twitter and came for Rose’s neck for dragging their beloved Queen Bey into the conversation, even though Rose makes a valid point.

Lest we forget, Beyhive, Beyoncé liked a video of Rose and former stripper Blac Chyna twerking their big ol’ booties on Instagram a while ago. It’s probably fair to assume that Beyoncé would probably support Rose’s argument that no woman deserves to be slut-shamed, whether she’s an incredible singer or a former stripper.
When Rose caught wind that the Beyhive took offense to her comments, she made it clear that she’s a member of the Beyhive. She said the issue was about “classism,” that some women are given passes and others aren’t.

Kudos to Rose for making a really good point.
