The presidential election is less than two months away and some believe Donald Trump has made a fool out of himself in an attempt to beat his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris. It’s too early to tell if his stunts and temper tantrums have worked —though opponents, fans and even his own family wonder and worry what’s next following the second assassination attempt on his life. Here are several times where Trump spiraled while campaigning for the White House.
All The Times Donald Trump Spiraled During His 2024 Presidential Campaign
Following a second assassination attempt, many on the Internet wonder will Trump's behavior only get worse
Meltdown After Biden Drops Out Of Race
After President Joe Biden announced he would not be seeking re-election in July, Trump reacted by telling NBC News that Biden “is the worst president in the history of the United States by far.” He also complained that Republicans should be reimbursed for the millions of dollars they’d spent going after Biden on his Truth Social app. No one was surprised by these words.
“Better Looking” Than Kamala Harris
At a rally in Pennsylvania rally last month, Trump rambled for nearly two hours before insulting Vice President Harris’ appearance out of nowhere. “But I say that I am much better looking. I’m a better-looking person than Kamala,” Trump stated. “I’m better looking than she is.” This was a truly bizarre thing to say.
Trump’s Entire RNC Speech
When Trump officially accepted the presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention back in July, he rambled on for an hour and a half. He disparaged immigrants, lied about the state of the economy during his presidency, called Hannibal Lecter great, insulted Nancy Pelosi and was extremely hard to follow. The speech made Trump look completely unhinged.
“She Happened To Turn Black”
During the National Association of Black Journalists’ annual conference that took place in July, Trump used his interview with Black women to attack Harris’ racial identity. “She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?” the former president said. Of course, he couldn’t discredit her professional achievements so he (predictably) hit below the belt.
Post-DNC Meltdown On Fox News
Following Vice President Harris’ nomination acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last month, Trump couldn’t help himself and called Fox News to complain about it. During the call, he apparently accidentally pressed buttons on his phone’s keypad while ranting about Harris’ speech. Watching Trump come undone in real time is always an unbelievable sight to witness.
“I Hate Taylor Swift”
After Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, Trump shared his anger over her choice by posting on his Truth Social platform: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” He understands the influence Swift has, but this was entirely uncalled for.
Presidential Debate Lies
During the presidential debate between Harris and Trump earlier this month, Trump seemingly spiraled after Harris insulted his campaign rallies. He defended himself by saying Harris recruits people to attend her rallies and buses them there. For whatever reason, Trump also went after Haitian immigrants by saying are eating pets in Springfield, Ohio—both claims are false.
“Unimportant” Sorority Party
Last month, Trump criticized Vice President Harris for attending the historically Black sorority Sigma Gamma Rho boulé in July. During an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump called the event—in which a sorority’s entire membership over the years gather together—a “party” that he considered unimportant. No one asked for his opinion, but that’s never stopped Trump from giving it.
Calling VP Harris A “Bitch”
In August, The New York Times reported two people close to Trump heard him allegedly call Harris a “bitch.” According to Politico, the accusers have been granted anonymity, but they say Trump called Harris the “slur” during at least two separate meetings. Trump has never shown women any sort of respect, so there’s a strong likelihood he definitely called Harris out of her name.
Cringey Elon Musk Interview
Last month, Trump had an interview with X owner Elon Musk. He couldn’t wait to call Harris “incompetent” and dubbed her “the border czar” even though she was responsible for dealing with the root causes of migration in Central America as opposed to border security. He also wrongly blamed the Biden-Harris administration for the slew of criminal cases against him because it “went after their political opponent.” Trump will use each and every platform he is given to spew lies.
“Black Jobs”
During his June debate against President Biden, Donald Trump insisted that immigrants are taking “Black jobs” from Americans. His words infuriated critics who called it a racist remark that boosted support from his white conservative base. Trump truly is the worst.
Misogynistic Attacks On Harris
Earlier this month, Trump shared then deleted a post that The Washington Post called a “amplified a vulgar joke about Vice President Harris performing a sex act.” Trump has made this “joke” before and even reposted a video that contained the line “She spent her whole damn life down on her knees.” It’s disgusting to say the least.
Harris Supporters Are ‘Stupid’
On September 15—following VP Harris’ speech at the Congressional Black Caucus’ Phoenix Awards where she dragged Trump—the former president went on Truth Social to not only bash Harris but her supporters as well. “All rich, job creating people, that support Comrade Kamala Harris, you are STUPID. She is seeking an UNREALIZED TAX ON CAPITAL GAINS. If this tax actually gets enacted, it guarantees that we will have a 1929 style Depression,” he wrote. Name-calling will always be Trump’s strong suit.
Blaming Biden/Harris For Second Assassination Attempt
Following a second assassination attempt, Trump told Fox News Digital that President Biden and Vice President Harris are to blame for calling him a threat to democracy. “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out,” Trump said. However, both suspects were white men and registered Republicans.
