Jennifer Lopez’s first husband Ojani Noa is blasting Sean “Diddy” Combs amid the latter’s federal indictment and mounting legal troubles. As we previously told you, Diddy and J. Lo famously dated from 1999 to 2001. But prior to that, she was married to Noa who was an actor and producer at the time from 1997-1998.

Now in a new interview with “Despierta America,” Ojani is airing out Diddy for the role he allegedly played in the dissolution of his marriage to Lopez.

“Part of that divorce was because of Puffy. When we were already married, when “Selena” came out and her career took off—she told me, ‘Papi, I want to be a singer.’ I said, ‘Mami, let’s do it. Let’s take advantage of the opportunity and take meetings with different record labels and see which one will sign you,’” he told the outlet in an interview in Spanish.

Shortly after, Lopez landed a deal with Sony Music, and that’s when Diddy came on a producer for her — which Noa said was the catalyst for the rift in their relationship.

“I was in Los Angeles opening my restaurant and she was between Miami and New York working on the album. When I could, I would go to be with her. There, in that distance, in that separation, was where the deception started,” he said.

Noa then went on to describe how their relationship eventually fell apart but the two somehow remained cordial in the aftermath. However, that didn’t last too long, as Noa would soon after sue Lopez in 2004 over “employment claims,” though they would soon settle, according to Complex.

As a part of that settlement, Noa agreed not to disclose details of their relationship to the public.

Sadly, Noa and JLO’s relationship would continue to be less and less cordial. In 2006, she sued him for breach of contract and got a permanent injuction filed against him after he tried to shop around a book about their brief marriage—a clear violation of the aforementioned settlement terms. In 2010, JLO was sued by Ojani’s then-girlfriend Claudia Vasquez for allegedly interfering with a Telemundo film she was working on that would have told the story of her doomed marriage to Ojani, per The Hollywood Reporter. JLO would eventually come out victorious on that front.

Fast forward to Oct. 15, Noa raised eyebrows and somewhat reignited the feud between him and Lopez when he posted an unconfirmed list of party guests for a Diddy party on his Instagram. While his name was nowhere on the list, he made a point to highlight Lopez’s.

“I’M NOT ON THE LIST,” Noa captioned in his post, which also contained old photos of JLO and Diddy. “To those people and media outlets asking if I ever went or participated in that Piece of Shit (DIDDY’S) Freak-Off Parties. No and No. Never. But my Ex-Wife (Jennifer Lopez) a.k.a (JLO) Did.. Ask Her. Oh and ask her about the SEX TAPES, The 734 DILDOS And The BABY OIL.”

The latter sentiment about the baby oil refers to the alleged “freak off” parties that federal authorities alleged Diddy hosted that featured male sex workers and various drugs.

As previously reported by The Root, Combs is facing a federal indictment where he’s being accused of domestic sex trafficking and interstate prostitution by abusing his power as a music industry giant. Earlier in the year, his mansions in Miami and Los Angeles were raided by Homeland Security where they discovered firearms and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil. Combs currently sits in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn where he awaits his trial in May 2025.
