Al B. Sure! is making sure people take a closer look into the death of his ex-wife Kim Porter—and ensuring he’s safe while doing so. If you’ll remember, in late September, the “Nite and Day” singer made a four- part series of posts on his official Instagram calling out Porter’s alleged “memoir” that was available on Amazon for short time and calling on the FBI to open up an official investigation into her death.

“We must continue to advocate for justice and ensure that everyone of the individuals who conspired against her are held accountable and prosecuted to the highest extent of the law. Thank you to all the #LawEnforcement Agencies for their unwavering dedication to uncovering a portion of the truth. There’s more,” he wrote in part. “Rest in power, Lady KAP. Your TRUE legacy will not be forgotten. Most importantly, Please Pray for the Kids! There is no validation in my claims coming true, there has been way too much collateral damage and death everywhere.”

Now, it seems like his recent admonition has caused him to ramp up his personal security. As noted by Page Six, during the American Liver Foundation’s National Legacy Gala on Monday (Oct. 7) in New York City, Sure! was there to accept the Transplant Trailblazer Award—but he wasn’t alone. In fact, not only did he have security—he allegedly had an officer of Homeland Security in tow with him.

“I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this because I don’t want it to go viral. We even have Homeland Security in the building. Detective Jackson, good to see you,” he said.

However, on Wednesday, a representative for the American Liver Foundation would later go on to clarify that his security person was actually a former Homeland Security person.

Yet and still, even if it were an active member of Homeland Security keeping watch over Sure!—it would be par for the course given his connection to Porter, who is also Diddy’s ex-wife. As well reported by The Root, on Monday, Sept. 16, the Bad Boy mogul was arrested in Manhattan by federal authorities. His indictment was unsealed the following morning, revealing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and engaging in interstate transportation for prostitution.

The allegations against Combs include sexual abuse, physical abuse, bribery and various drug offenses.
