From All That, to Kenan & Kel, to Good Burger, Kel Mitchell has been a part of our lives for nearly 30 years. Considering how much joy he’s brought us over the years, it’s no surprise that the actor/comedian received a huge outpouring of support after TMZ reported he’d been hospitalized. The outlet stated on Tuesday, Mitchell was “admitted into a Los Angeles-area hospital…coming in through the emergency room.” It also cited a witness who said “Kel appeared to be conscious and alert when he arrived.”

On Wednesday, the Nickelodeon star confirmed his hospitalization, thanking fans for their love and support on Instagram.

“Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time,” Mitchell wrote. “That scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you.”

Kel and his representatives aren’t revealing details about what landed the actor in the hospital, nor should they. What’s important here is that he’s home and healing.

Mitchell’s post was met with love from his famous friends. Most notably, his longtime friend and comedy partner, Kenan Thompson, sent his pal several prayer hand emojis.

Also, if he’s healthy enough, he and Kenan need to host SNL together to promote the movie.
