If you’re one of the many people exhausted with the personal revelations about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s marriage, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news: Apparently, the duo is now exploring the possibility of writing a book together. I’m not sure what’s left for them to reveal, but they obviously have more to say if they’re considering the project.
According to Extra, the Smiths are discussing the idea of “writing a book together called Don’t Try This at Home. If it’s treated more as a self-help book for relationships and less of a bombshell memoir, I can see how that would be interesting. If they want to take everything they’ve learned from their struggles and help other couples avoid making the same mistakes, that’s a book that could be very important, especially for Black couples.
This all stems from the shocking revelation that Will and Jada have actually been separated since 2016. This stunned fans who always saw them as relationship goals. No one thought their marriage was perfect, but from the outside looking in, it seemed like there was an unwavering love and respect for one another.
The Emmy-winning talk show host told Extra that her memoir stops at the 2022 Oscars, the night Will slapped the hell out of Chris Rock. So, I suppose there could be some interesting tidbits to come out of that incident, as Jada has stated that it was the catalyst for them to begin working on their marriage again.
Between the movie megastar’s memoir, Will, Jada’s new book, Worthy, and the Oscars slap in March 2022, it feels like we’ve been getting non-stop details on their relationship for two years now. As overwhelming as all these bombshells have been, if they’re happy as life partners who love and support one another while co-parenting their kids, then everyone should take a step back and get out of their family’s business.
