Afroman is the rapper best known for his song "Because I Got High," but now he's known for punching a fan during a performance in Biloxi, Miss. Afroman, whose real name is Joseph Edgar Foreman, was midperformance, playing the guitar, when a woman jumped onstage.
TMZ posted a fan-captured video that shows the rapper hitting the woman with a right-handed punch to her face and then continuing his set as security and another concertgoer help the victim, who ended up with a bloody face.
According to Billboard, a rep for Afroman said the punch was "a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space. It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside, uncontrolled forces."
The rep also blamed the venue for not having better security during Afroman's performance.
Afroman was arrested and booked for assault, then released on a $300 bond.
