Actor Michael Jace, best known as Detective Lowe from The Shield, was arrested on suspicion of murder charges around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after he called police to report that he’d shot his wife.

Police arrived at Jace’s home, in the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles, around 8:30 p.m. Monday after responding to what neighbors believed was a domestic violence incident. According to NBCLA, police found April Jace, 40, dead inside the house. Detective Sal LaBarbera said investigators were not looking for any additional suspects. The couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last year.

Law-enforcement sources told TMZ that Jace called police and said he shot his wife. Sources also told TMZ that the couple’s two children, both under the age of 10, witnessed the killing of their mother. The children are now with family members.
