Actor David Carradine's Death not a Suicide

David Carradine was an amazing actor.  From the TV series Kung Fu to Kill Bill, the talented actor sustained a career and a canon of integrity.  Yesterday 72 year-old actor was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room.  His face and genitals were tied with curtain cords.  The original announcement was that Carradine died from suicide.  However, curtain cords tied around the genitals led a Bangkok forensic specialist to conclude it was not suicide.  Unfortuntely, the news of Carradine's possible auto-erotic asphyxiation is sending folks into a tabloid/moral tizzy about what's wrong and right about sexual interests/fetishes.

If someone wants to tie cords or ropes around their neck and sexual organs then that's their business, but I am interested in discussing the safety in sex.  I'm talking about the use of condoms and spotters [apparently when one practices auto-erotic asphyxiation one should have someone there to make sure strangulation doesn't happen].  David Carradine was a great and legendary talent.  It's sad to hear the grand actor died from a risky act gone wrong.
