ABOUT LIZA SABATER

I rarely watch broadcast TV. And I am not that hot about cop shows either. I watch DIY shows. I don't get the fascination with venereal disease metaphor movies and shows (am looking at you Twilight and True Blood). I've never liked Curb Your Enthusiasm, Maureen Dowd or voicemail. I won't buy an iPhone because I hate AT&T. I love Twitter and think of Facebook as a necessary evil. I sometimes watch telenovelas but only as a substitute to dropping acid. I am a huge cartoon and animation junkie and dream of being the voice of a Pixar animation. I’m addicted to caffeine and gossip blogs. My favorite Sex and The City character is, hands down, Samantha. I fantasize about being adopted by Tim Gunn and Oprah.

When I am not in front of the 'puter screen

All I wanted to do was to publish easily my writing on the Web, but what started as a quest for the best blogging platform has been transformed into a career doing technology assessment and Web development consulting for anybody that wants to have a site that handles multimedia and multi-user publishing. I still do the writing and publishing via my blogs: culturekitchen (culture & politics), Daily Gotham (NYC politics), Liza Sabater (technology and moi) and the new The Wise Latina, a project that endeavors to index and connect those dreaded and pesky wise Latinas that are a threat to all Republican white males in the United States.

I am a boomerican: Born in El Barrio, raised in Puerto Rico where I lived until I was 20 years old, and now I’m back living in the East Village. Although I've travel around the country (and some parts of the world), speaking in technology conferences about new media and social Web technologies, you most likely will find me ranting and raving on Twitter where I am most simply known as the @blogdiva.

People still buy albums? Being biracial and multicultural, I'd have to go with Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet, U2's Joshua Tree and Ruben Blades & Willie Colon Maestra Vida (Primera Parte).
