On New Year's Eve, Dinyal New lost her 13-year-old son, Lee Weathersby III, to gun violence in East Oakland, Calif. Three weeks later her 19-year-old son, Lamar Broussard, has also been killed.

Two funerals for her two babies in under a month.

"I have no more kids," New told the San Francisco Chronicle, adding that she was struggling with her faith in a higher power.

"I'm still numb about Lee, so I don't know if my heart has enough room to handle Lamar's death. This is like a dream right now," the 41-year-old social worker's assistant told the Chronicle outside of her home. "I know there is a God, but I'm like, 'Why would he give a mother so much pain to handle within 19 days?' This is really hard on me."

Lee, New's youngest son, was shot around 9:30 p.m. Dec. 31 as he walked home from a party at the Boys & Girls Club. He was an eighth-grader who loved basketball and playing the drums, the Chronicle reports. He died early New Year's Day.

On Sunday, around 2:20 p.m., Broussard and a friend, 19-year-old Derryck Harris, were shot and killed while riding in Broussard's Audi, the Chronicle reports.

Relatives believe that someone who opened fire from another car ambushed them.

Broussard was a Laney College student who aspired to be a musician and start his own business, his mother told the Chronicle.

New told the newspaper that she didn't have the strength to positively identify both of her sons, asking relatives to do so "because I just have to remember them exactly the way they were."

No arrests have been made in the slayings.
