Vice-presidential nominee J.D. Vance has a history of saying idiotic things, which have seemingly gotten worse as he and Trump work to win the upcoming November election. From his disgusting remarks about Haitians to his weird obsession with women having children, here’s a list of he stupid sh*t Vance has said over the years.
A List of The Most Ignorant Things J.D. Vance Has Ever Said
From his comments about Haitian immigrants to childless cat ladies, Vance has proven to be an idiot time and time again.
Haitian Immigrants Are “Eating Pets”
For weeks, JD Vance has made false claims about Haitian immigrants eating the pets of residents in Springfield, Ohio. He justified his lies by saying this is what he heard firsthand from constituents despite having any evidence. Vance admitted he made the whole thing up during a recent CNN interview.
“If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that’s what I’m going to do,” the Ohio senator said.
“Childless Cat Lady” Comments
In a resurfaced 2021 interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, then-Senate-candidate Vance lamented that the U.S. was being run by Democrats and “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.” He cited Vice President Kamala Harris as an example and has been dragged for this remark ever since. Vance later said folks took his words “the wrong way.”
Teachers Should Have Kids
In 2021, Vance attacked Randi Weingarten—president of the American Federation of Teachers—because “she doesn’t have a single child.” Vance stated: “If she wants to brainwash and destroy the minds of children, she should have some of her own and leave ours the hell alone.” In a statement to NBC News, he doubled down on his ignorant comments.
Creepy Abortion Comments
Vance believes abortion is never acceptable—even in cases of rape or incest. He also thinks that cops should help police patients’ medical decisions. Before the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, Vance was worried that if abortion became illegal in his state of Ohio then “every day George Soros [would send] a 747 to Columbus to load up disproportionately Black women to get them to go have abortions in California.”
He added: “And of course, the left will celebrate this as a victory for diversity—uh, that’s kind of creepy.” Who says that?
Denying Climate Change
According to the New York Times, in 2020 Vance did address a “climate problem in our society” and supported the use of solar power. However, when running for Senate in 2022 he changed his stance. During his tenure, Vance deemed the Inflation Reduction Act “dumb” and has worked to repeal federal tax credits for electric vehicles.
Biden May Kill Trump Supporters With Fentanyl
In 2022, Vance told the Gateway Pundit one of his most ridiculous conspiracy theories to date: Biden had weaponized border policy against Trump’s supporters in an attempt at revenge through fentanyl overdoses. “If you wanted to kill a bunch of MAGA voters in the middle of the heartland, how better than to target them and their kids with this deadly fentanyl?” he said.
“It does look intentional. It’s like Joe Biden wants to punish the people who didn’t vote for him and opening up the floodgates to the border is one way to do it.” He is completely and utterly unhinged.
Marriages That End Due To Violence Is A “Trick”
In 2022, while speaking at a high school, Vance said that people leave their marriages due to violence as a “trick” of the “sexual revolution, per Vice News. He also said that “modern society’s war on families” is the reason “domestic violence has skyrocketed in recent years.” Actually, there was an uptick in domestic violence as a result of the 2020 pandemic.
“The Zoo Has Come To Town”
Last month, JD Vance paid a trip to a donut shop in Georgia. The exchange was wholly uncomfortable, with his opening line being the “zoo has come to town.” The employee who was serving Vance asked not to be filmed. The politician continued the awkward exchange by saying: “I’m JD Vance. I’m running for vice president.” The server replied plainly with “Okay,” making it clear they’d rather be doing anything than interacting with Vance.
A “De-woke-ification Program” For Institutions
Last year, Vance did an interview with podcaster Jack Murphy and suggested that the right “seize the institutions of the left. And turn them against the left.” Vance stated: “We need like a de-Baathification program, a de-woke-ification program.”
Vance also said that if Trump were to become president in 2024 he should “fire every single midlevel bureaucrat, every civil servant in the administrative state, replace them with our people.”
Diet Mountain Dew Joke
During a July rally, Vance made a quip about how Democrats call everything he does racist—and used a bizarre example to try to make his point. “Democrats say that it is racist to believe...well, they say it’s racist to do anything,” he stated. “I had a Diet Mountain Dew yesterday and one today, and I’m sure they’re going to call that racist too. But—it’s good.” No one knew what he was talking about—Vance included.
People With Children Deserve Extra Votes
Back in 2021, Vance said that people with children deserve more votes per election, which only reiterated his outlandish obsession with child-rearing. “Let’s give votes to all children in this country, but let’s give control over those votes to the parents of those children.” He continued his rationale with: “If you don’t have as much of an investment in the future of this country, maybe you shouldn’t get nearly the same voice.”
The 2020 Election Was “Stolen”
Vance wasn’t a member of Congress yet when an unruly mob stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 in an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election. However, he still spread Trump’s lie that the lawmakers should have fought the results.
“If I had been vice president, I would have told the states, like Pennsylvania, Georgia and so many others, that we needed to have multiple slates of electors, and I think the U.S. Congress should have fought over it from there,” Vance said to ABC News this year.
“That is the legitimate way to deal with an election that a lot of folks, including me, think had a lot of problems in 2020. I think that’s what we should have done.”
Calling “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” Fake
Back in 2021 after President Biden issued the very first presidential proclamation of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Vance quickly denounced the move as it drew attention away from the altered legacy of Christopher Columbus. “’Indigenous Peoples’ Day” is a fake holiday created to sow division,” Vance wrote on X.
“Of course Joe Biden is the first president to pay it any attention.”
Vance “Didn’t Care What Happen[ed] In Ukraine”
In 2022 during an episode of Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, Vance stated that he was more concerned about the security of the US southern border than the Russia/Ukraine conflict.
“I gotta be honest with you, I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine one way or another,” Vance stated. “I do care about the fact that in my community right now the leading cause of death among 18-45-year-olds is Mexican fentanyl that’s coming across the southern border.”
Vance also implied that the Biden administration wanted to “to go and fight Vladmir Putin” was because the Russian leader “didn’t believe in transgender rights.” Russia invaded Ukraine just five days after this interview.
