Though it’s coming a little over a year later, Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson have finally finalized their divorce.
The news comes just one day after we told you that Tina submitted the necessary financial documentation in hopes of expediting the process, though, at the time we couldn’t confirm whether or not Richard had done the same. Judging my this latest development, it appears he has since the two are legally and officially done being married. Details provided by Hot97 per legal documents on Thursday reveal that while neither party will receive spousal support, Tina will have to pay Richard a one-time lump sum to the tune of $300,000.
Additionally, Richard also stands to receive a 2021 Cadillac Escalade and pay all associated costs, several bank and retirement accounts, any funds and earned royalties owed to Richard Lawson Studios, all creative works developed by him during their marriage.
Tina’s portion isn’t too shabby either with her being able to retain ownership of her L.A. home and all within it, her one-percent stake in Kirby Beauty Management LLC, and any and all creative works she produced during their marriage. She’ll also keep: a 2018 Tesla, a 2020 Bentley, her partnership with Penguin Random House for the Matriarch Book, various personal items like furniture and art. She’ll also be responsible for any credit card debt she accrued during their eight-year-relationship.
What’s more, the former couple have also agreed to an non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that prevents either one of them from speaking negatively about each other, their respective children and grandchildren—with specific emphasis on not speaking ill of the latter “in any public forum or in the media.”
As previously reported by The Root, Knowles cited irreconcilable differences as her reason their split and requested for her name to be restored to Celestine Knowles. There’s no word on if she was granted the latter.
