This weekend, BlackAmericaWeb profiled author and motivational speaker Kenny Pugh, who's embracing what he calls "a lifestyle that empowers people to make good decisions about relationships moving forward." Read: No sex before marriage for the 38-year-old, who has been abstinent for more than seven years and says his choice means that he fields plenty of rejection from women and questions about whether he's really heterosexual.
Pugh told the publication that we live in a "sexually driven" society to which his new book offers an alternative. "Sex doesn't mean commitment," he says. "It may be a fun time, but it does not mean commitment. We have to realize there is a communication gap between men and women and we have to work on ourselves."
A fresh perspective on dating, or a convenient gimmick to promote his new book, Can You Do It Standing Up? A Different Position on Relationships? Who knows. But we have to give this new "relationship expert" some credit for taking his own gender-neutral self-improvement advice instead of just lecturing women (with what's been called "nonsense, rubbish and idiocy") the way some of his contemporaries do. Read more about him here and let us know what you think.
