If you thought the beef between “Power” star Omari Hardwick and producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was over....think again. Thanks to a recent interview 50 did on Tuesday morning’s episode of “The Breakfast Club,” it appears the two still aren’t seeing eye to eye as evidenced by the rapper’s new comments.
Specifically, 50 alleged that Hardwick “overvalues himself” and shaded him over his perceived star power and lack of projects he’s been able to land since leaving “Power” back in 2020.
“I think he overvalues himself. Because…it’s been a long time since he’s been in ‘Power,’ why are we not excited about the new projects?” 50 said in part.
When cohost Charlamagne tha God inquired about those new projects, 50 continued: “That’s what I’m talking about. If there was noise going on, if he was that big of a draw, then we would see noise, we would see new things happening, we’d see you out where you’re actively in a place where they’re looking for you.”
As previously reported by The Root, 50's words come nearly four months after Hardwick expressed his displeasure over how “Power” ended during a panel at the Uninterrupted Film Festival back in July. (Non-spoiler alert: Hardwick’s lead character dies.) At the time, the “Many Men” artist called the actor a “strange bird” in a since-deleted Instagram post and alleged that all his attempts at coming through for the actor were in vain.
That aforementioned exchange also came a month after Hardwick revealed how little he was paid while filming the popular show and said that he “never made what I should have made” while working with 50.
