Some people have such strong hate for each other that their beef will last for decades, no matter how mature either person has become. Just look at 50 Cent and Ja Rule. Despite them both not having their level of stardom from 20 years ago, they’re still set on feuding until there is nothing left.
Last week, 50 Cent was one of many New York Knicks fans angry at Ja for holding the Larry O’Brien trophy before their team even had a chance to compete for it. It’s considered bad luck to even touch the trophy before winning the NBA Finals.
This small gesture put 50 Cent and other Knicks fans in a frenzy. In one post on X, Fiddy wrote, “Oh shit don’t bet on the Knicks to win this next game. This janky ass put his juju all on the team. Fuck that I’m bet my money on the wolves! LOL“
Along with the post, the rapper-turned-TV producer also shared a video of a fan spewing their frustration with Ja Rule.
This angered superstitious fans even more since the Knicks lost their next game against the Indiana Pacers, who they’re playing against in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Initially, Ja Rule stayed quiet, not saying a word to Knicks fans or 50 Cent. But on Wednesday, the “Always On Time” artist clapped back to his rival on X after watching the Minnesota Timberwolves lost their next three games. “The Wolves haven’t won since this tweet!!!” Ja wrote, before shouting out his new song. “50 you fucking MUSH Ant man stay away from this goofy he a fed anyway… Stream Mama on all platforms NOW!!!”
Although this may have been their most trivial back-and-forth in recent memory, the two New York MCs have continued to speak on their strong dislike for each other.
In March, Ja Rule opened up about his 20-year-old feud with Fiddy in an interview with Piers Morgan. “You never see me say anything about him,” Ja insisted. “I just mind my business, do my business… I don’t do the back and forth.”
When asked if he would beat 50 Cent in a fight, Ja responded, “That’s happened already too, Piers. You gotta do your research.”
In February, after Ja Rule expressed his frustration for not being able to tour in the United Kingdom, fans suspected that 50 Cent was involved. He only gave credence to the claims by responding on social media. “I got juice all over the place sucker!”
The ever-combative 50 Cent has also been in a war of words with other artists lately.
Over the weekend, Diddy’s son, King Combs, released a diss track called “Pick A Side” and took shots at all of his father’s haters, including 50 Cent himself.
On the song, Combs rapped, “When all they had was 50 Cent who put the city on the map?/ Stop lying, pops been hated on by many men and n***a, that’s fine/ They gon’ try to stop these Eminems and they gon’ die trying.”
50 responded by trolling Combs and any who have come to his defense, most notably Meek Mill.
Earlier this week, he also took shots at Jay-Z in an Instagram post. “Jay in hibernation he ain’t coming outside till this shit with puff blow over, no brunch, no lunch, No dinner. LOL IM ALL YOU GOT IM OUTSIDE !”
There’s always another target in 50's scope. We’ll see who ends up next on his list.
