2 Chainz is a man of the people. Well, he’d like to be a man of the people. 2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, has his eye on the mayor’s mansion in College Park, Ga. In a recent interview with XXL magazine, the rapper discussed the possibility of running for mayor.

“I’m a musician, not a politician,” he said. “I’m supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing. I’m really gonna do this little mayor thing in College Park. I’m just trying to make sure I have the right qualifications.”

It’s not like he doesn’t have the educational qualifications. 2 Chainz graduated from Alabama State University with a 4.0 GPA and was also a student-athlete.

Although hip-hop has been 2 Chainz’s main focus, he’s no novice when it comes to politics. Recently he’s been outspoken when it comes to marijuana reform and even went toe-to-toe with HLN’s Nancy Grace.

In 2012 he teamed up with Respect My Vote to educate felons about how to get back their right to vote. It was an issue he became passionate about when he learned in 2008 that he was able to retain his voting rights despite having received a felony charge at the age of 15.

2 Chainz doesn’t plan to jump feetfirst into a mayoral run; he said he wants everything to fall into place: “We’ll see where the future lies for me, but you know, everything I do gotta be organic.”
