Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist with the skin of a rotten potato, is turning on President Donald Trump and his minions.

For all of us who love a good fuss fight, The Guardian obtained an early copy of the new book Fire and Fury, by Michael Wolff, which includes hundreds of interviews, including some with Trump and Bannon.

In the book, Bannon claims that Trump campaign officials—Donald Trump Jr., then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort and son-in-law Jared Kushner—who took a June 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, under the guise of obtaining dirt on Hillary Clinton committed a “treasonous” act.

Bannon reportedly told Wolff: “They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV,” referring to Trump Jr.’s appearance in front of a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing about his involvement in the meeting.

“The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor—with no lawyers,” Bannon said, according to The Guardian. “They didn’t have any lawyers. Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.”

And that isn’t all. Bannon also claimed that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump’s reported ties to Russia is centered on money laundering.

I like where this is heading.
