The man who planned the rally that resulted in the death of Heather Heyer and led the president of the United States to whitesplain away an incident of white supremacist terrorism is back at it again. Jason Kessler has submitted a special-event application request to Charlottesville, Va.’s Parks & Recreation Department to hold a “rally against government rights” on the anniversary of the original Unite the Right rally.
Like Bill Cosby applying for a job as a bartender, Jason Kessler is lobbying the city of Charlottesville to allow him to return to the scene of his first crime to get a do-over. He announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he wants to get the band back together for one last time to show America that Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan, skinheads and subjects of New York Times puff pieces are not so bad.
Explaining on his website that he wants to “awaken the ethnic consciousness of White Middle America so that they can stand up for their own interests before its too late,” Kessler says, “We’re not far off from a virulently anti-white Democrat being elected who will open the borders and accelerate the demise of our people.”
Kessler warns that he is “lawyering up” with the full expectation that Charlottesville will reject his application. He claims to have a legal team prepared to fight for the rights of pro-white activists:
When Charlottesville rejects my permit, as I fully expect them to, we will push back. My attorneys will not allow government actors to do any secretive shenanigans to screw us over either. The rally will be orchestrated precisely with clear instructions for where everyone is supposed to go. And this bullshit where they are afraid to remove armed Antifa from the front of the venue will not fly this time around.
According to Kessler’s lengthy statement on his site, the only reason the first rally turned violent was that he was a neophyte at event planning. And, of course, the government. It is always the government. Apparently, the same government that has upheld the tenets of white supremacy and protected white people for damn near three centuries took a day off on Aug. 12, 2017.
“At Unite the Right I was just coming into my own as an event organizer and had faith in the Charlottesville Police Department to abide by the terms of the security arrangement and keep hostile groups separate,” Kessler reasoned. “ I now understand that they did that to screw us over. They did it to ENABLE the Antifa to attack us while claiming that WE actually screwed things up by not following the security plan … which oh-by-the-way they refuse to release to the public so people can judge for themselves.”
Kessler’s goal of making America white again is the entire point of Unite the Right 2.0. “Imagine an America where the white citizens, descended from the founding stock of the country, cannot even advocate for their interest in public without fear,” he lamented, white-tearingly.
Yet Kessler reiterated that the wypipo movement is nonviolent, claiming that the only reason he ignored the neo-Nazis who actually told him beforehand that they were coming to the first rally to cause violence is that he thought they were were joking:
There is a rich culture of shocking and edgy humor associated with the movement. As a staunch first amendment advocate I took a very laissez faire approach to what people said on forums associated with UTR because I understood that things were said in jest. It’s a lot of fun to push the boundaries of acceptable discourse.
So get ready again, Charlottesville. The man who organized the first terrorist attack wants to do it bigger and better. Prepare yourselves for the second-worst sequel of all time. Personally, I just think they’re trying to retaliate against black people for making the worst sequel of all time: Boo 2! A Madea Halloween.
I’d rather attend a Jason Kessler rally than watch it. But then again, like a wise orange man once said: There were bad people on both sides.
