I hate to say that UCLA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is haterating in this dancerie, but the NBA legend isn’t upset that LiAngelo Ball and two other UCLA players (Cody Riley and Jalen Hill) got caught stealing in China; he’s more annoyed that the middle Ball child is cruising campus in a Ferrari.
“This is disgusting. I don’t like that,” Abdul-Jabbar told Fox Sports 1’s The Herd With Colin Cowherd. “It sets a bad precedent for what the school is supposed to be about and what our basketball program is supposed to be about.”
The sports-performance car was a gift from his brother Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball.
Bruh. Mr. Abdul-Jabbar. Let LiAngelo live. He’s balling on a budget—a pretty low budget, even if he is flossing around the Westwood campus in a Ferrari that he didn’t buy and is reportedly stealing Louis Vuitton sunglasses.
Abdul-Jabbar does believe that the players deserve a second chance after being caught shoplifting, but thinks that cruising the campus in a high-priced sports car is a bit much.
“I think they deserve a chance to redeem themselves, but they have to redeem themselves,” he explained. “It’s not gonna just be words. They have to go out and prove it, go to class, show some character. That’s what I would like to see.”
