Now, this is really classy. The wife of an ethics lawyer for President Donald Trump’s business dealings was arrested Tuesday after officers found her getting busy in the back seat of a car outside an adult detention center with an inmate.
According to the Fauquier Times, Teresa Jo Burchfield, 53, is married to Bobby R. Burchfield, a partner at Washington, D.C.’s King & Spalding, who was appointed as an independent ethics adviser to the Donald J. Revocable Trust in January. Teresa Jo was reportedly caught flexing with a 23-year-old inmate trustee who was being held on “minimal charges” and was “authorized to perform work inside and outside of the detention center and sheriff’s office facilities.”
The inmate was allowed to work outside the correction center and had been kicking it with Burchfield, whom he was juicing for “pills, unauthorized cigarettes and clothes,” which Burchfield reportedly supplied.
“The defendant was caught in the backseat of her vehicle with an inmate ... ,” Deputy. J.B. Thorpe wrote in Burchfield’s criminal complaint, the Fauquier Times reports. “When the inmate exited the vehicle, he handed me a bag of brown pills (capsules), that he claims to be workout pills.”
Burchfield, who worked for ObjectVideo, a firm dedicated to homeland-security technology, has been charged with “willfully delivering unauthorized articles to a confined prisoner, which is a class 1 misdemeanor. She was released on $5,000 secured bond, the sheriff’s office said. According to state law, Burchfield faces up to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine if found guilty,” the newspaper reports.
