The National Rifle Association has proved once again that it’s not only gun-crazed but also contradictory when it comes to talking about those who oppose its views: the “left.”
In a recent video posted to the NRA’s official Facebook page as a recruitment tool, the group references “they” quite often while never really saying who “they” are, with quotes like these:
“They use their schools to teach children that their president is another Hitler.”
“They use their media to assassinate real news.”
“ ... all to make them march, make them protest, make them scream racism.”
So, basically, the NRA thinks “they,” or the “left,” are violent, even though they’ve repeatedly referred to those on the left as basically having the fortitude of snowflakes.
So these violent snowflakes, the ones who are still waiting for the NRA to speak about the police killing of Philando Castile, and countless similar deaths at the hands of police officers, are the ones the NRA needs protection from. And NRA members need to protect themselves by arming themselves with guns.
OK. Got it.
The comment section under the video is quite telling. There were quite a few people claiming to be members of the NRA who said they now planned to cancel their membership because of the video’s incendiary nature.
“I’m tearing up my membership. This is UnAmerican. Not ok. WE are not supposed to be an us/them society. Differing views is what makes this nation great,” one commenter wrote.
Others were quick to point out the irony in the video.
“Has anyone else realized that all the things she’s accusing “liberals” of doing, the right did hard throughout 8 years of Obama. (except for the Hollywood part, they don’t have that) Self-awareness guys ... self-awareness,” another commenter stated.
But, of course, you have those die-hard NRA supporters who can’t see through the wool that’s being pulled over their eyes.
“Now here’s a lady that should be in congress I would vote for her in a blink of an eye. We need people with the guts to do the job for the people and not the special interest,” one dude replied.
As one person suggested on Facebook, if enough people report the video, maybe it’ll be removed.
