Ivanka Trump Grilled and Booed During Women’s Event

Ivanka Trump, aka Lil’ Trumpet, is so annoying. She’s really annoying, and it isn’t one thing she’s doing; it’s everything—from straddling the line between being a business owner of cruisewear casuals and being the daughter of President Vladimir TrumPutin to being at every meeting, including the ones that benefit her business interests.

Thankfully, the good women of Berlin understand my pain. During an international summit Tuesday to discuss having life handed to her on a shitty Mar-a-Lago kitchen platter women’s entrepreneurship along with her homegirl, German Chancellor Angela Merkel (because of course she was there during her father’s meeting), Lil’ Trumpet was booed and hissed, and it was glorious. Not to mention, the moderator wanted Lil’ Trumpet to clearly explain what her job actually entails.

“You’re the first daughter of the United States, and you’re also an assistant to the president,” the moderator, Miriam Meckel, editor-in-chief of the German business-news magazine WirtschaftsWoche, said to Trump, Politico reports.

“The German audience is not that familiar with the concept of a first daughter. I’d like to ask you, what is your role, and who are you representing: your father as president of the United States, the American people or your business?”

Man, did it make Lil’ Trumpet sweat.

“Certainly not the latter,” Lil’ Trumpet said. “I’m rather unfamiliar with this role as well. ... It has been a little under 100 days, and it has just been a remarkable and incredible journey.”

Politico notes that the president’s first teardrop did not explain her role as senior White House official, but she did add that she cares “very much about empowering women in the workplace” and wants to enact “incremental positive change. That is my goal. This is very early for me; I’m listening, learning.”

But the most glorious moment happened when Lil’ Trumpet began speaking about her father’s reign in the White House.

“I’m very proud of my father’s advocacy,” she said, calling him “a tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive,” Politico reports.

And the hisses and boos rained down like Niagara Falls. OK, they weren’t that bad, but we can all dream, can’t we?

“You hear the reaction from the audience,” Meckel said. “I need to address one more point: Some attitudes toward women your father has displayed might leave one questioning whether he’s such an empowerer for women.”

Meckel is not here for the games. What she wanted to say is, “How does your father being a man who clearly claimed he could grab women by the pussy because he’s so powerful ... how does that fit into him being a champion for women?”

Lil’ Trumpet exclaimed: “I’ve certainly heard the criticism from the media that’s been perpetuated,” to which the crowd laughed. They literally laughed at this claim.

But Lil’ Trumpet continued: “As a daughter, I can speak on a very personal level. I grew up in a house where there was no barrier to what I could accomplish beyond my own perseverance and tenacity. That’s not an easy thing to do; he provided that for us.” She also added that there was no difference between the way her father treated her and her brothers when it came to business.

Thank you, Germany, for holding Lil’ Trumpet’s feet to the flame, because I’m still confused about WTF she’s doing in the White House. At this point, like Brother Man from the fifth floor, she just kinds of shows up and is always around.
