Man, this administration reminds me of a movie I saw a while ago where a family completely forgot a kid at home and went on vacation and then hilarity ensued. Now that President Vladimir TrumPutin is under the gun for his fraudulent claims that former President Barack Obama tapped his phones at Trump Tower, White House press secretary Sean Spicer is spicing up the facts.
Instead of just coming right out and admitting that his boss and overlord TrumPutin is loose on the Twitters, now the emphasis is on the quotes in the tweet.
“I think there’s no question that the Obama administration, that there were actions about surveillance and other activities that occurred in the 2016 election,” Spicer said, CNN notes. “The president used the word ‘wiretaps’ in quotes to mean, broadly, surveillance and other activities.”
This shit is starting to sound like my 9-year-old self when I was caught lying. That’s about the age when you try to use word play and trickery to convince your parents that you never gave a specific time that you would be coming home because you had merely asked to go outside and play but didn’t explicitly state when you’d be returning.
But Spicy Facts is nothing if not persistent, so he continued and said that TrumPutin was not referring to former President Obama when he blatantly stated that “Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower” and called him a “bad” or “sick guy”; rather, Trump was referencing the Obama administration broadly.
CNN notes that it probably isn’t a coincidence that Spicy Facts started moonwalking these claims back on the same day the Justice Department was asked “to provide evidence to the House Intelligence Committee to back up Trump’s claim. The White House has so far refused to provide any evidence, and numerous former officials have denied the existence of any warrant to wiretap Trump Tower.”
Just a week ago, Spicy Facts was out here boldly tweeting that Trump’s tweet “speaks for itself” and declined to provide any further explanation, CNN notes.
For those who forgot, Trump tweeted: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory.”
Then he tweeted: “Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wire tapping’ a race for president?”
The dictionary defines wiretapping as some shit the Obama administration didn’t do to Donald Trump. I don’t know why it’s so hard for this administration to just come out and say to reporters, “Yeah, about the wiretapping thing, we totally fucked that up and lied. Next question.”
Then we could all move on.
