A weekend graduation pool party ended in tragedy after one teen was shot dead and four others were injured after a gunman opened fire, WSB-TV reports.
According to the news station, some 200 people were at the party in Fayette County, Ga., Saturday when a DJ said that his daughter’s drink had been drugged. A security guard, Antonio Gibson, said that he immediately shut down the party after that announcement.
As the group of teens started to leave, a fight broke out.
“At around 12:30-ish, I heard 15 gunshots go off. I told everybody to get down,” Gibson told the news station.
Five people were shot in the aftermath. One of those victims, 19-year-old Wali Clanton, a Kentucky State University freshman and aspiring college athlete, was killed. The other four victims had non-life-threatening injuries, the police told the news station.
According to WSB-TV, the police are still looking for the individual who fired the shots.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this article incorrectly gave Clanton’s school as Kennesaw State University. He attended Kentucky State University.
