Idris Elba is a pretty diverse actor, grabbing important roles across starkly different genres in films like Thor, Pacific Rim, American Gangster, Daddy’s Little Girls and, his most recent success, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
But this time the talented entertainer is stretching his voice acting muscles. He is well into final negotiations to be the new voice of man-eating tiger Shere Khan in Disney’s remake of The Jungle Book, the Hollywood Reporter reports.
According to the entertainment site, the new movie is a live-action and computer-generated mashup, with computer-generated animals voiced by actors. Producers are also reportedly searching for a mixed-race actor for the lead role of Mowgli, the feral child who was raised by animals.
